Waste Solutions Forum Phase I
The project was completed in FY 05. Its purpose was to engage farmers, policy makers, researchers, industry representatives and government officials in a facilitated, outcome based planning forum to come up with specific options and comprehensive solutions for utilizing excess animal waste in the Shenandoah Valley. In addition to Shenandoah RC&D, co-sponsors include: Virginia Dairymen’s Association, Virginia Poultry Federation, Farm Bureau, Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Virginia Tech’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Environmental Defense, numerous state agencies, Altria and the Keith Campbell Foundation.
