Poultry House Lighting Audit

To conduct research and develop associated outreach materials for poultry growers that provide information on the energy savings, economic payback characteristics, and environmental benefits of dimmable compact fluorescent lighting systems.  These materials will provide growers with the information that they need to make decisions about investments in energy efficient lighting equipment, which in turn will save money in farm operating expenses and mitigate air pollution and greenhouse gases associated with electricity consumption. A farm in Augusta County has been identified and two poultry houses will provide side by side comparisons.
