Field Crop Summer Intern

A summer intern will be hired production in the Northern Shenandoah Valley to assist with multiple extension education programs related to environmentally-sound and economical field crop.  There is a need to increase soil nitrate testing, scout for orchard grass pests, collect data on soybean pests, and refined farmer’s corn weed control programs.  This intern will provide additional time and resources that will enable Extension to enhance farm profitability and facilitate environmentally-sound agronomic practices.  The herbicide survey covers the entire Shenandoah Valley.
