Shenandoah RC&D received a $700,000 grant from
National Fish and Wildlife for Creating a Culture of Conservation
from Farm to Table for Water Quality and Agricultural Community Sustainability.
This project seeks to
encourage water quality improvement and agricultural community sustainability by
closing loop holes in the flows of sediment, nitrogen and phosphorus throughout
the Shenandoah Valley regional food system and into the Bay. In looking at the
magnitude of the cleanup efforts required, everyone will have to do their part
to reduce nutrient loads and mitigate impacts their activities have on water
quality.
