New Poultry Litter Hotline (starting November 1,
2009)
For the past three years, the Market Maker position,
housed at the Shenandoah Resource Development
Council (RC&D) in Verona, has maintained a poultry
litter hotline. The Market Maker position was
supported by a three year federal grant with
matching funds from Virginia Poultry Federation (VPF). The federal grant will
expire on October 31, 2009 and the position is being
eliminated. VPF will again operate the hotline as
we had prior to creation of the Market Maker
position.
Growers with litter available for sale
and other farmers seeking to purchase litter may
call toll-free:

VPF will attempt to facilitate litter transfers by
disseminating lists of suppliers and purchasers.
