Biodiesel is a clean, renewable diesel fuel substitute produced from agricultural resources that can increase engine performance, fuel economy and fuel mileage. The Shenandoah Resource Conservation and Development Council and its partners Blue Ridge Clean Fuels, Virginia Clean Cities, and James Madison University, suggest that biodiesel use throughout the Shenandoah Valley may be healthier, cleaner, more cost effective, help support our agricultural industry, and lessen our dependence on foreign oil. Biodiesel can be burned in any standard, unmodified diesel engine in pure form, or blended with petroleum diesel.
